Since I started working as a sales manager for personal training teams in 2005 I have had some crazy adventures. Starting with one of the largest personal training companies in the USA I proved my skills in the field. I was lucky enough to have some amazing teachers along the way and was able to find a great deal of success. The club I was stationed at had a goal of $54,000 dollars a month and we were able to hit that almost all of the time.
I ended up leaving that job in order to pursue my life as a personal trainer at a local gym and quickly built myself a large clientele with virtually no actual personal training experience. In that process I was forced to reexamine and build my own systems for prospecting, sales, and client retention. I recognized that in my education as a personal trainer there was virtually NO TIME SPENT ON SALES even though the technical learning was fantastic. More importantly I realized the other trainers were in the same boat and I wanted to help them. This was the beginning of ASKME.
As the personal training thing got dull I found myself helping an awesome married couple in building their fitness club franchise personal training department and helped them establish a successful personal training department for their facility. Over the next six and a half years I would perfect the ASKME system and share it with dozens of professionals who had all the technical skills but no training on how to make it profitable. The methods I implemented grew organically through trial and error. When my close friend and now business partner Tim was able to consistently implement the system to achieve 10k in sales per month I knew I had figured out the code.
Most recently I have replicated my system in a new gym that I helped open with another dear friend of mine and Tim. His business expansion has been open since 2017 and is thriving in part because of the sales methods I have shared with the staff. The gym has a full membership team and personal training staff that are all effectively utilizing the ASKME method.
I have also shared this method with massage therapists and life coaches with great success. I haven't tried it yet but I can easily see this method being used by anyone who offers an initial consultation for their services including stylists, accupunturists, yogis, lawyers, and even music teachers (I LOVE music!).
Aside from my fitness career and years of experience as a team leader I have some other (maybe more valueable) coaching experience as well.
I have trained hundreds of personal training clients and helped them achieve thier goals. By reading the right books and having the right mentors I have been able to provide quality coaching to help clients find lasting success.
About 2004 I started practicing Kickboxing and Brazlian Jiu Jitsu. Over the years I fell into a coaching roll and have learned so much from working with people in that realm. The idea of being there for someone but not being able to do it for them is at the core of my coaching. At the end of the day it's your fight but it doesn’t hurt to have someone in your corner.
